Social Media Community Guidelines

Effective January 1, 2026

Saint Ann Parish uses social media to share parish news, promote events, and foster a sense of community rooted in the teachings of the Catholic Church. Our online spaces are an extension of our parish life and are intended to reflect the same spirit of charity, respect, and faith that guides us in person.
We welcome thoughtful engagement and respectful conversation. To ensure our platforms remain safe, welcoming, and aligned with our mission, we ask all participants to observe the following guidelines.

Our Commitment

Saint Ann’s social media channels exist to:

  • Share information and updates about parish life

  • Encourage faith formation and community connection

  • Promote dialogue grounded in charity, truth, and respect

We strive to model Christian communication and ask all participants to do the same.

Community Expectations

When engaging with Saint Ann’s social media platforms, we ask that all comments and interactions be:

  • Respectful and charitable in tone

  • Relevant to the topic of the post

  • Truthful and made in good faith

  • Consistent with the teachings and values of the Catholic Church

We encourage disagreement to be expressed thoughtfully and respectfully, without personal attacks or inflammatory language.

Content Not Permitted

To protect the integrity of our parish community, Saint Ann reserves the right to remove content or limit interaction that includes, but is not limited to:

  • Personal attacks, harassment, or hateful language

  • Profanity, vulgarity, or abusive comments

  • Content that promotes division, hostility, or disrespect

  • Misinformation presented as fact

  • Political advocacy, campaigning, or partisan debate

  • Content that contradicts Catholic teaching or undermines the mission of the Church

  • Spam, solicitation, or promotional material unrelated to the parish

  • Repeated posting of the same comment or message

Moderating & Commenting

Saint Ann moderates its social media pages to maintain a respectful and faith-centered environment. As part of this moderation:

  • Comments may be removed if they do not align with these guidelines

  • Commenting may be limited or disabled on certain posts when discussion becomes unproductive or contrary to parish values

  • Users who repeatedly disregard these guidelines may be restricted or blocked from further interaction

  • Moderation decisions are made prayerfully and with the intent of preserving peace, unity, and clarity.

Questions, Concerns, or Dialogue

Social media is not always the best place for complex or sensitive conversations. If you have questions, concerns, or would like to discuss an issue more fully, we encourage you to contact the parish office directly. We are always happy to engage in respectful dialogue offline in a way that fosters understanding and pastoral care.

A Final Word

Thank you for helping Saint Ann’s online community reflect Christ’s love, truth, and charity. By participating on our platforms, you acknowledge and agree to follow these Social Media Community Guidelines.

Updates to This Notice

Saint Ann Parish reserves the right to update these guidelines as needed to best serve the parish community.
