About Mass Intentions

Candles In Rows

Mass is the highest form of worship in the Catholic Church. Mass intentions are the specific intention for which the Mass is being offered. These intentions could be for the living (e.g., someone living with illness, someone celebrating a birthday or anniversary, etc.) or in remembrance of someone who has died.

From the beginning the Church has honored the memory of the dead and offered prayers in suffrage for them, above all the Eucharistic sacrifice, so that, thus purified, they may attain the beatific vision of God." (CCC 1032)
