Liturgical Ministries

Acolytes assist the priest and deacon during Mass by preparing the altar, carrying the cross and candles, and helping the liturgy proceed reverently and smoothly.

All acolytes must be baptized Catholics who have received First Holy Communion, regularly attend Mass, and are mature enough to serve attentively and reverently. Children and adults must complete parish training before being scheduled.
Lectors proclaim the Word of God during Mass, helping the congregation hear and reflect upon the Scripture readings.

All lectors must be practicing Catholics who have received the Sacraments of Initiation, regularly attend Mass, and are comfortable reading clearly before the congregation. Lectors must complete parish training and prepare the assigned readings before serving.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist with the reverent distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass and may bring Holy Communion to those unable to attend.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion must be at least 18 years old, have received the Sacraments of Initiation, be practicing Catholics in good standing, complete formation, receive the pastor’s recommendation and diocesan approval, and be formally commissioned before serving.
Music Ministers lead the congregation in sung prayer through the service of cantors, choir members, accompanists, and instrumentalists.

Music ministers should be able to sing or play an instrument, participate respectfully in the liturgy, and attend rehearsals as you are able. There is no minimum skill requirement or experience! Come as you are and share your God-given talents!
Sacristans prepare the church, sacred vessels, vestments, and other items needed for the celebration of Mass and ensure they are properly cared for afterward.

Sacristans must be responsible, practicing Catholics who have received the Sacraments of Initiation and demonstrate maturity, dependability, and reverence for the Eucharist and sacred objects. Sacristans must complete parish training before serving independently.
Ushers welcome parishioners and visitors, assist with seating and collections, respond to needs during Mass, and help maintain a safe and hospitable worship environment.

Ushers must be dependable, welcoming, attentive, and physically able to assist parishioners during Mass. Ushers must complete parish training, understand emergency procedures, and be prepared to assist with seating, collections, Communion flow, and other needs.
