A Prayer for Our Lectors

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the unique set of gifts, passions, and abilities You have placed within our lives.

Open our eyes to recognize the talents You have entrusted to us, and grant us the wisdom and courage to use them fully.

Remove from us any spirit of comparison, jealous, or insecurity.

Help us to appreciate both our strengths, and our limitations, trusting that You created us exactly as we are for a purpose.

Guide our steps so that we may direct our intelligence, creativity, and energy toward lifting up others and making the world a better place.

Bless us with mentors and opportunities to develop our potential, and keep our hearts humble as we do.

Remind us that these gifts are not for our own glory, but to serve those around us and bring glory to Your name.

In Your holy and precious name, we pray.

Amen.
